I have requested a service
Depending on the status of the service request there are three scenarios that can occur to cancel a service request.
1. Request is still in the "Requested" stage.
To cancel your request go to the Services I am Receiving page, find the service request under Requested and select the "Cancel" link. The request will be deleted from the service request listing for all of those families or members that you invited to perform the service.
2. Request is in the Accepted stage
To cancel your request just go to the Services I am Receiving page, find the service request under Accepted and select the "Cancel" link. A message will be sent to the person that accepted the service request that the service is no longer required and the service request will be deleted from the system.
3. Request is in the Due stage
Once the service request enters the due stage it can no longer be simply cancelled by the service requester. Because the service is due it should have been performed by this time and so to simply cancel the service request may not be fair to the person who accepted (and may have performed) the service request. So to cancel a service request as this stage you will need to formally request cancellation and the member who has accepted it must confirm the cancellation.
To do this go to the Services I am Receiving page, find the service request under Due and select the "Cancel" link. You will be forwarded to the cancel form where you can fill in some comments and the system will send a message to the member who accepted the service request for them to action. Only then will the service request will be deleted from the system.
I have agreed to perform a service request
1. Request is in the Accepted stage
If you have already agreed to perform a service request you can simply cancel that acceptance by going to the Services I Am Giving page. Under the Accepted heading select the service that you want to cancel and select the "Cancel" link.
When you cancel in this way the person who requested the service will be alerted to the fact that you have cancelled your acceptance.
